Timothy enjoys spending meal times at the table in his special seat tasting and testing an array of tasty dishes. This morning was porridge with milk from his breast friends (that’s me). Lunch was bread, a little cheese, cucumber and a little bit of orange. This evening Timothy enjoyed sweet potato and salad. However what Timothy loves the most isn’t food he honestly isn’t really interested it’s the wet stuff H20!
Timothy loves water and loves to drink it especially from my husbands glass although at meal times I offer Timothy water between mouthfuls of food using a plastic picnic cup which is the highlight of meal times. I often have to say the rhyme which goes ‘a tall and silver rocket is standing on the ground…’ to which he opens his mouth just enough to post in the food. With the water all I need to say is water or even show Timothy the cup and his mouth is open ready to receive it down the hatch.
My mum has suggested that I buy Timothy his own cup but I wasn’t sure really about getting a sippy cup for a couple of reasons one of them being that I wanted Timothy to learn how to use a real cup so as when he is older and we visit someones house and he would like a drink of water he can do so without using sippy cup which might not be available.
Yesterday I came across a Munchkin Miracle 360 degrees Cup. No spills and no spouts and is like a real cup when your lips press on the rim the water flows out, sounds perfect the only think is I think its going to take some practice for Timothy to master and possible we should of introduced this cup first however I didn’t realise that this type of cup existed.
Even though it’s only been a day of the miracle cup, Timothy seems interested with it and I did take it out when we went for lunch yesterday and just unscrewed the lid part which was useful to have water in a style of cup we use at meal times.
Hopefully the Miracle 360 degrees Cup will allow Timothy the freedom at the dinner table to drink water himself.
