We are tracking

In the middle of February I decided that because of only one income and a lovely new baby in the house we really needed to watch what we were spending.

Knowing we needed to cut our spending I decided to do my research first of how to go about it.  After watching a programme on Right Now Media I came across the principal of tracking the out goings as the first step to saving.  Finding out what areas we spent our money for example on food, eating out, activities, house hold bills, car and the list goes on would be how the process of saving money began.

With this tracking principal my husband and I also were aware of what we were spending.  In March we had a full month of tracking and being aware of what we were spending.

We decided to take a flask of hot water to make drinks when we went out for a pic-nic rather than buying a drink.  I enjoy having a hot chocolate in town however making one at home will taste equally lovely and save money.  Shopping online has also been excellent for buying only the essential items rather than adding to the shopping trolley extra goodies which make the shop more expensive.

Today when I opened up the credit card statement the bill was considerably lower than it has been in a long while which is amazing.

The universe is incredible the more we were sensible and careful with the income these past six weeks which God has provided for our family the more we have been blessed in way you wouldn’t imagine.

If we look after the pennies God is definitely looking after the pounds.

My hope is that Timothy will learn that when we treat the money little or much that God has given us with respect that he will trust us with even more.

Happy Wednesday Friends!
