By candle light

At Christmas time our last Church knew how to celebrate this festive season carols around the village tree whilst giving out mince pies, candle lit services, Christmas meals and the nativity service to name but a few.  Sometimes you don’t appreciate what you enjoyed until you know longer have such a full Christmas itinerary.

This evening our new Church is holding its candle lit service, what is exciting about it is that it’s an older Church building with stained glass windows.

After the morning service I arranged onto the window  ledges an array of different candles in preparation for the evening service I had help organising the candles into different styles however I took great pleasure in putting the candles symmetrically on the ledges, I couldn’t of bared for them to of been thrown on haphazardly.

This evening the candles were all lit and a warm glow came from the windows, I always get nervous with candles hoping that nobody sets themselves on fire or worse destroys my candle formation.

Beginning with my favourite carol O holy night followed with carols, readings from the bible and a great Christmas message from my husband the service was beautifully festive.  I think next year we need even more candles especially at the front of the Church.

Happy Sunday Friends!  ⛪🎄
