Rollers to the ready

With the downstairs toilet rooms painting finished yesterday my husband and I both painted the bedroom which will eventually be used for the baby on his arrival.  However will also be transformed into a second guest room for over the weekend.

Wearing overalls we set to work and by lunchtime had put one coat of posing on the walls and ceiling nicely hiding the green paint which didn’t work well at all on a ceiling.  At lunchtime we naturally stopped for a well earned break and to eat lunch.

Tinkerbell had spent the morning dog-bathing in the sun light which came through one of the bedroom windows.

When we had finished eating my husband went out to get more paint in preparation for our second coat.  Whilst I filled in a hair line crack in the ceiling plaster which had become very clear after a fresh coat of white paint.

With my husband home we started in the same place we had begun first of all in the morning and worked our way around the room.

We decided that the second coat would be the last coat we would put on the wall today and would reconvene in a couple of weekends time for the famous third coat.

My plan on Monday morning is to buy a curtain pole which matches the others in the house and curtains preferable blackout fabric lined.  Along with guest quilt covers for the new duvets.

My husband and I agreed that the room which will become the baby’s room will not be decorated for a baby but in a style which will be able to be used and enjoyed for many years.  Therefore we are considering a plain curtain and going with a red, white and blue theme not for patriotic reasons but as our choice of colours.

Happy Saturday Friends!
