Yesterday I decided to contact a hydrotherapy centre for Tinkerbell due to her little back legs still not able to use them for walking and after reading good things about hydrotherapy and a conversation with the owner of the centre we felt it would be the right decision to try a session.
The hydrotherapy centre owner today made contact with Tinkerbell’s back specialist at the vets to get conformation for the therapy which he agreed to and arranged an appointment for later this week.
Tinkerbell isn’t a water hound she’s many things a lap dog, a house dog, a ride the car dog but doesn’t like water. Going to the toilet whilst it is lightly raining is a punishment. I’m unsure how she will manage with a couple inches of water.
Hydrotherapy involves using an underwater treadmill to encourage walking whilst monitored at all times by the owner and her assistant.
One year we were at a hotel in London and had taken Tinkerbell into the small gym and I decided to put her on the treadmill which she didn’t like at all I haven’t tried her with our home treadmill but maybe when she’s back on her feet I could try.
So even though the odds are against me with Tinkerbell not liking water or treadmills I’m prepared to try and help her in the way to get her walking. Who knows maybe she will hate it so much that her little back legs will spring back into action once again.
Happy Wednesday Friends! 🐕💧
