I’ve grown up enjoying the lovely Austrian marble cake which I found just delicious, a perfect tea time cake or really any time of the day.
With dinner guests this evening I decided to go with a South African main and an Austrian dessert.
Here is the step by step method I took when making this easy cake.
The ingredients you will need are as follows:
1 cup Margarine
3/4 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Milk
3 cups Flour
2 teaspoons Baking Powder
1/4 cup Cocoa Powder
1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Essence
Step 1. Pre heat oven 180°c
Step 2. Cream butter and sugar.
Step 3. Add the egg very slowly mixing as you pour it in.
Step 4. Add the milk slowly and mix.
Step 5. Sift the flour and baking powder and fold this into the mixture.
Step 6. Divide the mixture.
Step 7. Add the mixture to a greased tin.
Step 8. Cook for 1 and ¼ hours, once cooked turn out onto a wire tray.
