Rubbish

We love our new home but it’s a very sad day when you look forward to bin day.

The borough we used to live in had weekly collections for the general rubbish bin, the recycling rubbish bin and the tiny food bin.  With the garden rubbish bin collected alternative weeks.  A perfect system.

This borough we have big issues.  Firstly with tiny boxes for the recycling unlike our large bin we are used to.  What’s even worse is that the tiny recycling boxes and main rubbish bins are collected alternate weeks to the garden and food bin.

I thought recycling was important however they make it very terribly difficult with tiny boxes.  On their information sheet it reads ‘recycle at home 40% in 2012/13 – let’s make it 45%’ I’m like let’s make it a normal size bin and weekly collections and then you’ll see that percentage skyrocket.

So the reason why I’m so excited about bin collection day it’s that our bins are completely full to overflowing my bins inside the house are to the maximum capacity it’s actually ridiculous.

I hope when we get our first council tax bin that it takes into consideration the rubbish, rubbish collection situation and has a reduction for providing a service which I don’t think I can work.  It is very possible that I will have to make my own special trips to the nearest recycling point.

Happy Monday Friends!
