Dog in the fast lane

I don’t really enjoy motorway driving its not the speed its the other drivers on the road.  I dislike the way the white van man drives really recklessly and how the 4×4 drives speedily and then slams their breaks on or the lorries thundering past.

Today on our motorway trip I had offered to drive my car which should of taken a couple of hours, however it lasted over five hours and that wasn’t because of my slow driving!

Firstly the traffic was travelling around 50mph which was an absolutely perfect speed for me then it went slower.   The traffic briefly stopped and then beginning again until finally all the cars in front began to come to a stand still one by one lane after lane, until the whole motorway was motionless.

Car engines began switching off people began to get out of cars, lorries and minibuses.  The next thing I knew was my husband and Tinkerbell had joined the motorway party and were strolling on the hard shoulder.

It’s very unfortunate for the possible victims of the road incident which was causing the stand still but I didn’t at all feel annoyed or even board as I actually had a good afternoon good weather great company!

After a couple of tangerines some time out of the car and inside the car a few phone calls and lots of discussions the traffic began to move and then stopped and we repeated the above.

When the traffic finally decided to go we turned off at the first service station for a healthy salad.  I then used the top of the salad lid for a make shift water bowl while we ate.

Our journey took from 1:45pm till 7:35pm however all things work for good and for the Karma family we arrived safely and I at least had a good afternoon.

Happy Friday Friends!
