When I was little I remember when my Great Grandma used to come and stay my mum used to give her half of a white grapefruit sprinkled with brown sugar for breakfast.
At Christmas time we would always have dates the syrupy sugary ones that came in a small long packet with a plastic stick along the centre.
Who knew that grapefruits didn’t just have to be the white kind or dates the sticky sugary kind.
I never buy white grapefruit I decided that I enjoy better the pink or the red kind.
After many years of eating sticky Christmas dates I now no longer prefer them instead enjoying the large organic medjool dates. My husband brought home a few days ago a different type of date which I had never before seen.
Sometimes for convenience or routine we could miss something which we never thought existed, never broadening your understanding and mystery of the world around us. Begin with food makes this journey of discovery a reality. You may one day have a mini revelation finding out what you thought you enjoyed actually was just a shadow of something even greater.
Happy Tuesday Friends!
