It’s a dachshund thing

Tinkerbell is our miniature dachshund she is four years old and truly fabulous in every way.

Tinkerbell is a typical miniature dachshund who enjoys dark spaces, loves cuddles but despises the rain.

Tinkerbell’s tricks are limited as she isn’t a show dog but a family member.  She can sit, we don’t ask her to stand but she can and her favourite she can show her belly.

Tinkerbell will readily she her belly to my husband when he asks but won’t so much when I do.  My husband likes to think he’s the top dog.

Tinkerbell will often show her belly when you attempt to pick her up to put her in her cage when we leave the house or when playing.

A couple of months ago I was playing with Tinkerbell in the living room and she was getting very excited and then it happened it was as if the mains water pipe had exploded.

All of a sudden Tinkerbell rolled over and showed her belly and began to go to the toilet for a wee!  My husband an innocent by stander appeared to be mesmerised by the ordeal.  The request of kitchen paper appeared to fall on deaf ears as I attempted to contain the liquid on her tummy.

My husband motionless, Tinkerbell like a garden fountain and I helpless.

My husband eventually left the room returning with kitchen paper, Tinkerbell needless to say was bathed and I replay the series of events every time she rolls and shows me her belly voluntarily.

This wasn’t one of Tinkerbell’s most fabulous moments however we understand she’s a delicate little thing with a tiny bladder.

Happy Friday Friends!
