On the most recent trip to IKEA that my husband and I made a couple of weeks ago we purchased from the mini super market area two Savu Smoker Bag. I decided to try and smoke a Chicken in one of the bags.
The smoking bag is made up of wood chips and three foils. The wood chips are contained at the bottom of the three foils with the food that is wishing to be smoked sits between the first and second foils.
I smoked the Chicken for over two hours sitting the smoking bag into my large rectangular Pampered Chef stone.
The chicken produced a large amount of stock which I saved to use for a soup.
The chicken cooked beautifully and simply feel of the bone however disappointingly it didn’t taste smoked at all which is surprising as the smoking bag before cooking real had a strong smoky aroma.
With another bag still to be used we may next time try smoking fish.
